A man is charged with several animal-cruelty charges when a dog was found dead and severely burned according to police.
The incident occurred Oct. 29, 2016, when police were called to a home located in River Rouge. They found the dog burned near a bottle of accelerant. Further investigation led to the arrest of David Westly Didlake, 27, at a home in the 80th block of East James street. Didlake allegedly resisted police during the arrest.
Didlake was arraigned Friday in the 25th District Court in Lincoln Park.
He was charged with killing/torturing animals, abandoning/cruelty resulting in death of one animal and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer.
He received a $75,000 cash/surety bond.
A probable cause conference will be held December 13.
