Rochester Hills man critically injured in Russian roulette shooting

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – A 20-year-old man from Rochester Hills is in critical condition after shooting himself in the head while playing Russian roulette at a home in the 200 block of Marias Drive, police said.

A witness said the man had been playing video games on Friday when he decided that he wanted to play Russian roulette. He retrieved a gun from another room, pointed it at his temple and pulled the trigger, authorities said.

Witnesses said they originally thought it was a joke and that the man had made no suicidal statements.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the incident.

The victim is listed in critical condition.
