The gold coin has an estimated value of $1,200.

According to The Salvation Army, the anonymous donation comes as the nonprofit’s iconic red kettles are reported to be off pace to reach its 2016 campaign goal. Currently, The Salvation Army has raised $2.1 million of its $8.4 million goal.
