Search underway for missing Monroe County woman

Chelsea Bruck went missing during party

FRENCHTOWN TWP., Mich. – The family of a missing 22-year-old Monroe County woman is pleading with the public to help bring her home.

Chelsea Bruck's family hasn't heard from her since Saturday night when she left for a Halloween Party on Post Road in Frenchtown Township.

"Just return her. Just let us know. Call us, call the tip line. Call the Monroe detective bureau if you know anything. If you were at the party and saw anything -- if you have pictures that you took -- maybe someone's in the background that somebody else recognizes," Bruck's mother, Leannda, told Local 4.

Bruck was last seen wearing a "Poison Ivy" costume consisting of black pants and a leaf-covered top.

"The big concern is she doesn't drive. Friends left and we don't know how she got home, who she was left with, what time she left. Her friends had her phone, had her bag, so she doesn't have that for us to contact her. But she obviously hasn't borrowed anyone else's phone to post on her Facebook or to call," Leannda Bruck said.

Family members and police have been searching by foot, ATV and by air throughout the area.

"It's something I wish no one else has to go through," Chelsea's sister said. "She's your baby sister, you're supposed to take care of her and be there for her and you can't. You can't bring her home. You don't know what else to do."

Tuesday night friends and family plastered fliers all over town as they prayed for Chelsea Bruck's return.

"We don't know where she is. We don't know how far she would have gotten. We just want her safe. We just want her home," Leannda Bruck said. "We don't want her to worry about where she's been or what she's done. We just want her back."

Late Tuesday afternoon, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office released a composite sketch of a man they want to talk to about Bruck's disappearance. Investigators said a witness reported seeing Bruck around 3 a.m. Sunday with the man.

He is described as white with medium length dark hair, a thin mustache, and had facial hair. He was wearing a plain black hooded sweatshirt with no visible logo and black framed eyeglasses.

Leannda said her daughter lives at home and is a waitress at Olga's Kitchen.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bruck or knows the man in the sketch is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at 734-240-7700 or Monroe County Central Dispatch at 734-243-7070.
