Shots fired at Detroit police officers responding to armed robbery

4 people arrested after armed gas station robbery

DETROIT – Detroit police officers were not hurt when shots were fired toward them while responding to an armed robbery at a gas station, authorities said.

Two men were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday evening at the gas station on the corner of Seven Mile Road and Grand River Avenue.

After police arrived at the gas station shots were fired at Detroit police officers, who did not return fire.

Detroit police and Redford police caught up with the suspects near the corner of Vassar and Brady in Redford, where three people were arrested, police said.

Detroit police, Redford police and Michigan State Police pursued a fourth suspect who was arrested moments later. A police chopper was also used in the search.

None of the officers or suspects were injured. Police said the weapon used in the shooting was found.
