Singing dreams come true for Michigan mom

DETROIT – Monday is opening night at the Met. Arguably the world's most prestigious stage, performers would give their eye teeth to perform there.

For Caitlin Lynch of Ypsilanti, no eye teeth needed.

Her talent has gotten her a dream gig in Francesca da Rimini, the story of a young daughter of an aristocrat who's being forced to marry the disfigured son of a powerful magistrate. Of course there's passion, betrayal and murder.

Caitlin sings the Mezzo-Soprano role of Biancofiore, but there's a little extra drama in her dressing room.

Playing opposite Caitlin in real life is her 5-month-old son, Brody who's been listening to opera music since taking up residence in her belly.

Caitlin continued to perform throughout her pregnancy and even went back to the stage two weeks after giving birth.

Tonight her biggest personal production meets her biggest professional production as Caitlin debuts at The Met and realized a childhood dream come true.
