FLINT, MI – Flint, nicknamed the "Vehicle City", is the birthplace of General Motors and the famed Flint Sit-Down Strike. The Sloan Museum Auto Fair this weekend will celebrate this rich, automotive tradition with a two day car show with over 700 automobiles on display.
The action kicks off Friday, June 21 with the Cruise to the Hot Dog Stand in Grand Blanc. The cruise is free and I can attest to the deliciousness of these hot dogs as my grandma and grandpa took me there as a kid. I recommend going out, checking out some classic cars, and enjoying a Koegel's with a homemade root beer float.

The car show kicks off Saturday at the Flint Cultural Center campus. There's a lot going on during the two days including the 2013 feature car display which is a tribute to car design legend Carroll Shelby. Factory Five will be building a car from the ground up in just two days so make sure to see that display a few times. There will be a robotics display, show car judging, a kid zone, music, and much more throughout. Make sure to check out http://www.sloanautofair.com for more detailed schedule of events.
The Sloan Museum and the Buick Center will be open during the event so there's even more to see. All the proceeds will go to helping the Sloan Museum keep up its automotive collection.
Tickets for one-day admission into the event cost $5.00 for adults, $1.00 for kids 11-4, and free to kids 3 and under. All active duty military personnel in uniform also get free admission.
Vehicle registration is $20 at the gate, cars for sale registration is $20, and swap and craft vendors will be $30.
