DETROIT – After more than 100 years, the passage of time has left its mark on Michigan Central Station in Detroit.
However, change is in the air. From outside, new windows are the most obvious upgrade -- 1,080 windows are being installed in the tower.
The windows are 1-inch thick, double pane and tempered glass. Overall, the old train depot is receiving more than $10 million in renovations.
At one time Michigan Central Station embodied the city's progress.
It could once again symbolize Detroit's desire to succeed.
