Southfield police release pictures of Walgreens robber

Man gets away with money from store on Northwestern Highway

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Southfield police have released surveillance pictures of a man they said robbed a Walgreens early Wednesday morning.

Police said a man entered the Walgreens at 29030 Northwestern Highway around 3:30 a.m. and handed the clerk a note demanding money. Police said the man implied he had a gun and told the clerk he would shoot her if she didn't hurry up.

The clerk was not hurt, but the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police describe the man as between 50 and 60 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds. He was wearing a red baseball hat, red jacket, red pants and gray shoes. He had black gloves and was carrying a blue and white umbrella.
