St. Clair Shores woman found guilty of killing, dismembering son

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – A jury has found a St. Clair Shores woman guilty of killing and dismembering her son's body.

Donna Scrivo, 61, has been found guilty of first degree murder, disinterment of a dead body and removing a dead body without a medical examiner's permission.

The remains of Scrivo's 32-year-old son, Ramsay, were found in early February 2014 in five different bags scattered along a road in St. Clair County's China Township. The mother reported her son missing days before his remains were found. Prosecutors say she killed Ramsay in January inside their St. Clair Shores home.

Police said an investigation led to surveillance videos of Donna Scrivo purchasing the Skilsaw used to dismember her son's body. The saw was found in one of the bags of body parts. Investigators also found DNA evidence in the trunk of Donna Scrivo's vehicle.

She will be sentenced June 23.
