Suspect in abduction of missing Detroit teen arrested in Ohio

Deontae Mitchell abducted Tuesday night, police say

DETROIT – A 45-year-old man who was wanted in connection with the abduction of a 13-year-old Detroit boy has been arrested in Ohio. 

UPDATE: Police search for 2 more suspects in abduction case

Police had been looking for Gregory Walker since an Amber Alert was issued for Deontae Mitchell Wednesday morning. Walker was found at a motel in Toledo.

Mitchell was last with his cousin Tuesday night outside Nino's Market at 15901 E. Warren on the city's east side. Police first  released images of Walker, and later released video of the actual abduction (watch here).

UPDATE: Body found in field

The video  shows a man grab a boy, who was struggling to get away. Police said the man was armed with a gun.

Mitchell is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall and he weighs 86 pounds. He was wearing a lime green Nautica shirt, gray jogging pants and black gym shoes.

“I want my grandson home. I miss you and I love you. God be with you,” said Vernice Ellington, Mitchell’s grandmother. 

The FBI has joined in this investigation. 

Anyone with information on Mitchell is asked to call 911 or Detroit police at 313-596-2200.
