Suspect in Clinton Township break-in, assault charged

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Clinton Township police have charged a 39-year-old man with the attack of a woman early Monday morning in her apartment.

Theron Leon Lambert is facing charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct during a felony, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration and assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder, home invasion and assaulting or resisting a police officer.

He's scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old woman was severely beaten during the attack at the Green Valley apartments. Lambert allegedly knocked on her door posing as a police officer before pushing his way into her home.

She was able to call police to report the attack and officers chased down the suspect.
