Plymouth Township teen arraigned as adult in murder plot

15-year-old girl, 23-year-old boyfriend accused of conspiring to murder girl's family

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 15-year-old Michigan girl was arraigned Thursday as an adult on charges she stabbed her 12-year-old brother and conspired to kill other family members so she could run away with her 23-year-old boyfriend.

Roksana Sikorski entered a not-guilty plea to seven charges, including assault with intent to murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Sikorski's parents, Laurene and Jeff, told the court they have a "strong bond" with their daughter and want to be there for her through these "difficult times."

"I think she just thought this guy loved her and she wanted to do whatever he told her, and she was very vulnerable, and she has a mental disorder and she needs help," said Laurene Sikorski. "I want to make sure she gets help."

The judge set the teen's bond at $1 million. If she posted bond, the judge said she was not allowed to have any interaction with her two younger siblings.

"These horrible crimes don't happen just out of nowhere. There's always usually confluence of bad events," said attorney Leslie Posner, who representing the teen. "That's what's happening with Roksana."

Posner said Roskana suffers from depression, ADHD and repressed memories since she was adopted from Poland with her two younger siblings. They are all biological siblings.

Prosecutors say the girl stabbed her brother in the throat with a knife about 2 a.m. last Friday in their Plymouth Township home and tried to stab her younger sister. The boy was treated at a hospital. Prosecutors said her boyfriend, Michael Rivera, was outside the house sending text messages instructing her.

Rivera faces the same charges and felonious assault. He was ordered held on $1 million bond Sunday.
