Teen shot during attempted robbery at Anthos Garden Apartments on Detroit's east side

17-year-old boy in critical condition

DETROIT – A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in an apartment on Detroit's east side.

The shooting happened about 3 a.m. Monday at the Anthos Garden Apartments in the 5000 block of East Outer Drive.

Family members tell Local 4 the teen was playing dice when one of the men in the group left and returned with a gun. Witnesses then say the man attempted to rob the others. When they tried to run away, the teen was shot in the back.

Family member say they believe they know who the shooter is although police have not released a description of the suspected shooter.

Local 4 has a reporter at the scene attempting to gather more information.
