400 teens show up to Plymouth Township party, trash home

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A teen girl’s house party Saturday in Plymouth Township got out of control when 400 people showed up.

Police said the 16-year-old only wanted to have a few friends over, but when word got out on social media, hundreds of people came over while her parents were out of town.

“We’ve seen large house parties, but not to the extent that this one was,” said Plymouth Township Police Lt. Bob Antal.

When police arrived at the home in the County Club subdivision, 200 to 300 people fled the scene, Antal said.

He said a girl was found unconscious but breathing in the home. She was transported to a hospital.

The teens badly damaged the house; cabinets were ripped off the wall and patio walls were torn down. Alcohol containers were also found.

Antal said detectives will be meeting with the girl’s parents.

The township has an ordinance against open house parties with alcohol, so the case has been turned over to the prosecutor’s office.
