Thief enters Allen Park home through unlocked window, assaults woman

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – An Allen Park woman was sexually assaulted by a man who entered her home through an unlocked window early Monday morning, police said.

The woman was alone in the home when the unknown man entered through the window at about 3 a.m. The home is in the area of Outer Driver and Southfield Road.

Police say the man implied he had a weapon and threatened to kill the woman if she tried to struggle or call police. He took money from her purse before he left the home.

The woman described the man as white, standing about 5 feet 7 inches and in his mid-to-late 20s. She told police he had a strong odor of cigarette smoke.
