DETROIT – The excitement around town is building as the Tigers head into the playoffs. The Tigers are prepping for their ALDS matchup against the Oakland A's and the team will start things on the road on the west coast Friday.

Before you buy your tickets for a game either here at home or out in Oakland, the Local 4 Defenders have a special warning so you don't get caught in a scam.
The Defenders found ads selling playoff tickets posted on Craigslist and all over the internet. Tiger tickets are the hot ticket and sadly scammers are also out there ready to score some cash.
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is putting out the warning that some tickets are fakes and some sellers are just trying to rip you off.
"Because Tigers are so beloved in our area it's easy play for scammers to go after people who just want to support their team," said a representative from the BBB. "And if you have a question you can always go the Detroit Tiger's web site. They have an example of what that ticket is supposed to look like."
The best advice when buying tickets is to stick with the names you know, names like Ticketmaster and Stub Hub.
Last year at this time the Tigers were again in the playoffs and investigators were out on the streets busting those scalping and those clutching counterfeit tickets.
