Trick-or-treater hit by car, dragged down road in Pittsfield Township

PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 14-year-old girl was struck by two vehicles and dragged almost two miles after trick-or-treating in Pittsfield Township on Halloween.

Police say the incident happened around 9 p.m. in the area of Ellsworth Road and Silverleaf Drive. The girl was crossing Ellsworth Road when she was first hit.

The first vehicle initially pushed her into the eastbound lanes. That driver, a 33-year-old man, stopped and called 911, but couldn't find her at the scene.

Authorities say it's because she was dragged nearly two miles by another car and eventually dislodged in the area of Michigan Avenue and I-94 in Ypsilanti Township. The car that dragged the girl left her in the roadway.

She was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police are searching for the car that dragged the girl. It was described as an older vehicle with a hatchback. Anyone with information to call Pittsfield Police at 734-822-4911.
