VIDEO: Argument leads to scuffle outside Michigan polling place

Fight breaks out between voters supporting different candidates

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police said a scuffle broke out Tuesday morning between voters supporting different presidential candidates at an Ypsilanti Township polling place.

Washtenaw County police said they received a call just after 10 a.m. about a fight at an election precinct.

Investigation showed a 29-year-old woman was standing in the area for campaigners and urging others to support Green Party candidates. While leaving the polling place, a 64-year-old woman responded and urged voters to support her candidate.

The two women started arguing, which escalated into a pushing match.

An unrelated man joined the scuffle and pushed the 64-year-old woman to the ground. He then left the scene.

After that, Washtenaw County sheriff's spokesman Derrick Jackson said, other people "started getting into the fray," but no other violence was reported.

Police arrived shortly after the fight and separated the people involved. There were no injuries in the scuffle and no arrests have been made.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
