Video shows why Carlita Kilpatrick was fired from Texas job

DETROIT – Video shows Duncanville, Texas police and finance department officials swarming Carlita Kilpatrick's office.

The wife of ex-Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was hired as a specialist for the field house recreation center. It was a $41,000 a year job in which she helped with day-to-day operations.

However, the finance department received information about misappropriation of city assets, prompting the finance director to start searching.

A lock box full of cash was found in Carlita's desk drawer. On the video, the obviously frustrated Carlita stands to the side as officials count every single dime of the money, which totaled $341.

The cash represents money not deposited. The incident was reported to the city manager and Carlita was fired for the money not being accounted, which was against policy.
