DETROIT – Sources say three employees were tied up during an armed robbery at a Walgreens on Jefferson Avenue and Mount Elliot Street on Detroit's east side.
The incident happened at approximately 9 a.m.
Sources tell Local 4 that a security guard was able to break free from the ties and fired shots at the suspects who returned fire at the security guard.
The three suspects then fled the scene and it is unclear if they sustained any injuries.
The employees were not injured.
