Warren resident charged with Detroit murder
Sources: Victim was a prostitute
DETROIT – A Warren resident has been charged with a murder that occurred on Detroit's east side last week, according to authorities.
Byron Lacey, 42, of Warren, is accused of killing Gregory Lane Daniels. Daniels was 33.
Daniels was found on 1800 block of East Arizona Street near West McNichols Road and Brush Street.
Sources say Daniels was a male prostitute who dressed as a woman.
The shooting occurred Oct. 4 around 10:45 p.m.
Lacey was charged with open murder, felony firearm and felon in possession of a firearm. He was arraigned at the 34th District Court Sunday morning.
