Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Detroit police host joint hiring events

DETROIT – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Detroit Police Department are hosting two joint hiring events to fill vacant positions.

One event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Samaritan Center.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has more than 100 positions to fill.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a valid Michigan driver’s license, must be a high school graduate or have a GED and no felony convictions. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and be qualified to obtain a concealed pistol license.

A second event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Northwest Activity Center.

On site interviews may take place, so attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume to the event.
