WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – A family with three young children were tied up by masked gunmen early Wednesday morning during a break-in at their West Bloomfield home, police said.
Police said the two gunmen were armed with pistols when they broke into a home in the 5000 block of Victoria Road just after 3 a.m. Local 4 has learned two people are in custody.
The homeowner, his wife, the family's nanny and a 6-year-old and 4-year-old were tied up. A 1-year-old was also in the home, but was not tied up, police said.
The family wasn't hurt, but the men stole several things from the home, including the family's white Chrysler Town and Country minivan, police said.
"They got a great description. They got detailed information on exactly what was taken," said Lt. Curt Lawson, with the West Bloomfield police.
After executing search warrants at multiple places in Detroit, police say they recovered many items from the West Bloomfield home.
