Wind advisory in effect for SE Michigan counties

Wind advisory issued for 9 local counties

DETROIT – As of 3 p.m. Friday, a wind advisory has been issued for several counties in southeastern Michigan.

The wind advisory includes the following counties:

  • Genesee County
  • Lapeer County
  • Livingston County
  • Macomb County
  • Monroe County
  • Oakland County
  • St. Clair County
  • Washtenaw County
  • Wayne County

The advisory is in effect until midnight Friday. Southwest winds will gust at 45-50 mph late in the afternoon. The strongest winds are expected to come in the early evening between 5 and 8 p.m. Gusts up to 45 mph are possible through midnight.

Winds could do minor damage to trees and outdoor objects and sporadic power outages are possible. Driving will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
