DETROIT - CBC News is reporting that A Windsor city councillor wants to have a say in Detroit's noise bylaw.

Councillor Jo-Anne Gignac wants the city of Windsor to at least be in the conversation and organization of music festivals on the U.S. side of the Detroit River.

Gignac says she received complaints from residents about the volume of the music from Orion music festival held recently on Belle Isle.

West-end councillor Ron Jones said he, too, has received complaints about the electronic music festival.

Mayor Eddie Francis says there is nothing Windsor can do.

"It's a U.S. jurisdiction, in a different city, in a different state, in a different country," Francis said. "Can you imagine if we got a letter here saying we want you to turn down Bluesfest or turn down your events occurring here."

City staff was instructed to look into the issue and bring a report back.
