Inkster homeowner exchanges fire, kills intruder

Would-be robber 1st shoots homeowner who returns fire

INKSTER, Mich. – A man who was trying to break into a home Thursday evening ended up on the losing end of a shootout.

Police say the homeowner saw the man attempting to break into his home at Oakwood and Central streets in Inkster. When he confronted him, the apparent would-be robber shot him in the leg.

However, the homeowner returned fire. He shot the man, killing him.

The homeowner is at Oakwood Hospital with a bullet wound to his leg. He is in serious condition.

The would-robber was taken to Oakwood Hospital, too, where he died.
