Woman, firefighter hurt in Pontiac house fire

Both victims suffer minor injuries in fire on Martin Luther King Boulevard

PONTIAC, Mich. – A firefighter with the Waterford Regional Fire Department and a Pontiac woman were both hurt Monday in a house fire.

In a statement about the incident, the department said the fire happened just before 9 a.m. at a home on Martin Luther King Boulevard South.

The was quickly put out, but the woman was sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The department didn't elaborate on what injuries the firefighter had suffered but said they were minor and he had already been treated and released from a hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

DTE was also at the scene to cut power to a wire that had fallen on the home.
