DETROIT – A 24-year-old woman was kidnapped at gunpoint near Woodward and Calvert in Midtown Detroit, according to police.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. Sunday.
Police said the woman stopped to help a man who she thought needed a jump for his car. The man then pulled out a gun and forced the woman inside his vehicle.
Police said the woman was taken to a vacant building on 3rd Avenue and Collingwood Street, where the man sexually assaulted the woman.
The assailant fled the scene on foot, police said.
The man is described to be a black male with a mustache, 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing all black.
Detroit police said the assailant was possibly driving an old burgundy Buick.
The woman was taken to a hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said.
