Woman killed in hit and run crash on Detroit's east side

3 others in unknown condition

DETROIT – A 41-year-old woman was killed Saturday night after the car she was in was hit by a Envoy on Detroit's east side, police said.

Four people were inside a Dodge Charger that was traveling northbound on Joseph Campau Avenue at around 10:50 p.m. Saturday when the car was hit by a red Envoy traveling westbound on Nevada Avenue, according to officers.

Police say it's unknown if the Envoy ran a red light or a stop sign, but it was traveling at a high speed when it hit the Charger. The driver got out of the car and fled the scene on foot.

There's no description of the driver.

The 41-year-old woman was killed in the crash. A 43-year-old man, 29-year-old man and 15-year-old woman were also in the Charger during the crash and are in unknown conditions.
