Woodmere party store robbed, sees significant damage

Vehicle may have been used to ram wall

DETROIT – From the front, the Woodmere Party Store looks normal.  The back wall however has not one but two gaping holes.

The Detroit liquor store on Fort Street saw significant damage when it was broken into and robbed early Saturday morning, according to the owner.

It appears as if a vehicle was used to crash into the building, first into an empty room, and a second time into a storage area.

The owners say it happened around 4:30 a.m. and that the thieves stole cash, cigarettes and liquor.  The management was shocked to find the destruction Saturday morning and feel that a piece of them was stolen too.

The owners are offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

The Detroit Police Department is investigating.
