Ypsilanti man shot in back after confrontation in home

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Police say a 36-year-old man from Ypsilanti was shot in the back overnight during a confrontation with a man at his home.

The victim's girlfriend was meeting with a man in the basement of the victim's home in the 700 block of Woodcreek Court at 2:08 a.m., authorities say. The two men got into an argument and the one who was speaking with the victim's girlfriend pulled out a gun.

The victim and his girlfriend ran away and the other man fired his gun. The victim was hit in the lower back and received non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the incident. No arrests have been made.
