Oakland University to get new $4.9 million practice facility

ROCHESTER, Mich. – On Friday, Oakland University announced that it will be building a new 108,000-square-foot training facility.

The $4.9 million project will replace the current 29,000-square-foot practice facility and will include a full soccer field as well as batting cages for baseball and softball.

"The indoor facility will be attractive to prospective student-athletes, and will substantially improve efforts to coordinate the scheduling of practices and classes in such a way as to provide greater educational flexibility to our student-athletes." said Interim Director of Athletics Robby Stewart. 

Oakland plans to update its track and field and tennis complex as well. 

Both projects are expected to be done by the upcoming fall.
