WDIV-TV sweeps to victory in May

Local 4 is #1 at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and late news w/ratings increases across the board!

In the recently completed May Nielsen ratings for Detroit (4/24-5/21), WDIV scored first place finishes in key newscasts, afternoon programming, access (7-8 p.m.) and late night programming. Further, most of NBC/Local 4's newscasts experienced double digit increases in the ratings over last year.

• Local 4 News First at 4 p.m. is #1 in the time period with a
6.8 household rating/17 share. Local 4's 4 p.m. news wins in every key demographic with significant ratings growth in W25-54 over last year by 42%. Local 4 beat both Dr. Oz (WXYZ 4 p.m.) (2.7 RTG/6 SHR) and Judge Judy (4 p.m. WJBK) (4.0 RTG/10 SHR).

• Local 4 News at 5 p.m. continues its five year winning streak and is #1 in the time period with a 7.1 household rating/15 share, beating both WXYZ (6.5 HH RTG/13 SHR) and WJBK (5.2 HH RTG/11 SHR). Also, #1 in most key demographics. WDIV experienced ratings growth over last year by 18% in Adults 25-54 and significantly grew Women 25-54 by 60%.

• Local 4 News at 6 p.m. is #1 in household ratings, garnering an 8.2 household rating/16 share compared to WXYZ (7.9 RTG/15 SHR) and WJBK (5.2 RTG/10 SHR). Additionally, Local 4's 6 p.m. news won in every key demographic and is Detroit's undisputed #1 newscast across the board, posting tremendous ratings growth year-to-year (+27% in Adults 25-54 and +52% in Women 25-54).

• Local 4 News at 11 p.m. is #1 Mon-Sun with an 8.0 household rating/15 share (compared to WXYZ 6.8 RTG/12 SHR, WJBK 10pm 8.0 RTG/12 SHR and WJBK 11pm (M-F) 5.0 RTG/9 SHR). Local 4's 11 p.m. news wins in every key demographic and saw ratings growth over last year by 15% in A25-54 and grew significantly in W25-54 by 28%.

Local 4 News Today (M-F 6-7a.m.), anchored by Rhonda Walker, Evrod Cassimy, Brandon Roux and Ashlee Baracy registered significant growth and now nearly ties WJBK in W25-54 with a 3.1 rating, up 41% from a year ago.

In other day parts, WDIV's The Ellen DeGeneres Show is the #1 program in the M-F 3-4 p.m. time period and nearly doubles Katie Couric's delivery (households). Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are #1 in the all-important access time period of 7-8 p.m., averaging an 8.7 household rating/15 share.

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon garnered a 4.9 HH RTG/11 HH SHR. Since moving to his permanent 11:35 p.m. time period post-Olympics, he is a strong #1 across all demographics. A 24% increase in Adult 25-54 ratings as compared to last May with Leno still at the helm.

In addition to The Voice, NBC is anchored by Blacklist, Chicago Fire, Law & Order SVU, Parenthood, About a Boy, the successful Dateline NBC and more.

In addition to scoring major May sweeps wins, WDIV's website, ClickOnDetroit.com, is Detroit's #1 news/information website (ComScore October 2013). In May, ClickOnDetroit.com is projected to finish with more than 3.5 million unique visitors (app/online/mobile).
