50 degrees in the forecast for SE Michigan

And not just once!

DETROIT – What a weekend, and what a day it was today!

I have to channel my inner George Harrison and quote a few lyrics from his classic song, "Here Comes The Sun."

"Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, and I say it's all right. Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter. Little darling, it feel like years since it's been here ... Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting. Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear."

Doesn't that perfectly sum up how you feel? We're finally turning the corner toward spring. Before we know it, it'll be the first day of spring, otherwise known as Tigers' Opening Day!

Tonight will start clear, but all of this melting snow is putting some low level moisture into the air, which will condense into fog later tonight. That, combined with some advancing cloud cover from the south means that our Tuesday won't dawn as bright as today did. Lows near 30, with a very light south wind.

Tuesday Sunrise: 7:54 AM -- Tuesday Sunset: 7:34 PM

Tuesday is actually shaping up to be a little trickier than expected, but the bottom line shouldn't matter much to you. We'll probably see some clouds, with more to the south and less to the north. In fact, some of you to the north even may remain mostly sunny. But where that line dividing the two ends up is the tough part. Regardless, it should be a dry day, with highs near 50°! South-southwest wind at 5 to 10 mph.

Becoming mostly clear Tuesday night with some late night fog possible. Lows in the low 30s.

Mostly sunny on Wednesday, with highs again near 50°!

Mostly clear Wednesday night with some late night fog possible. Lows in the upper 20s.

Mostly sunny and a little cooler on Thursday, with highs in the mid 40s.

Mostly clear Thursday night, with lows near 30°.

Friday is highly uncertain due to the long range models' disagreement on the handling of a weak weather system heading this way from the south. Some models keep most of the moisture to our south and east, while others give us a few afternoon or evening showers. Highs in the mid 40s.

A few light showers are still possible Friday night. Lows in the mid 30s.

Mostly cloudy on Saturday (most models keep us dry, but some still keep a light shower around). Highs in the mid 40s.

Partly cloudy Saturday night, with lows in the upper 20s.

Mostly sunny on Sunday, with highs in the low 40s.

Mostly clear Sunday night, with lows in the upper 20s.

Mostly sunny and warmer again on Monday, with highs in the low 50s!
