Forecast: Scattered showers Friday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Clouds are moving back into our corner of the state, ahead of Friday showers.

But they'll hold off overnight. Expect mainly cloudy skies tonight with slightly milder lows in the mid-to-upper 50s.

Showers will move into our western counties just before sunrise on Friday. Then we'll see scattered showers through much of the day. Highs will be much cooler with plenty of clouds sticking around even after the showers end (by late afternoon). Look for temps to max out in the mid 60s.

Then the weekend arrives. And while I think we'll be mostly dry, there's still some uncertainty about where the cut-off low pressure center sets up. Saturday will feature a few light showers, with better chances in the northern half of the area. But that low could throw even more moisture into southeast Michigan. But temperatures will be cool nonetheless, highs will be in the mid 60s.

Sunday should stay dry with a bit more sunshine. Highs will stay in the mid 60s, while nighttime lows retreat to the 40s area-wide!
