DETROIT – Scattered showers this evening should end a little after midnight, with skies becoming partly cloudy after that. Lows in the mid 50s. Variable wind at 8 to 12 mph.

Although we could see some sunshine to start the day Tuesday (dry morning rush hour), clouds will increase through the morning and showers will develop for the afternoon. It's going to breezy and cool, with highs not making it out of the 60s in most areas. West wind at 15 to 25 mph. Showers end by late evening Tuesday, then becoming partly cloudy, with lows in the low 50s (perhaps upper 40s north of I-69 and west of US-23). By the way, Wednesday morning's record low is 49, set back in 1945.
Partly to mostly cloudy on Wednesday with a few afternoon showers possible (not as numerous as we'll see on Tuesday afternoon). Highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Wednesday record for lowest high temperature ever is 70, set way back in 1896. Gradual clearing Wednesday night, with lows in the mid 50s.
Then we get into a nice couple of days (and possibly a lot more), with mostly sunny skies Thursday and Friday, with highs in the mid 70s Thursday and upper 70s on Friday. Overnight lows still very comfortable in the mid to upper 50s.
This weekend's forecast has now become somewhat tricky, although my interpretation of today's computer models has us squeaking by in pretty good shape. By the way, if you exclude the early morning showers this past Sunday and two or three weeks ago on Sunday, this coming weekend *might* be our 9th consecutive weekend of great weather (but who's counting... OK, I am).
Alright -- here's the deal: An upper level disturbance that is currently over Washington state is going to dip into the nation's mid-section, and then swing up into New England. It appears today that the disturbance will stay just enough south and east of us to miss us, although we could see some partly cloudy skies as a result.
As long as it doesn't track any farther north and west, we're in good shape, with mostly sunny skies on Saturday and highs near 80, partly cloudy skies on Sunday with highs in the low 80s, and mostly sunny skies on Monday with highs in the mid 80s.
