Metro Detroit weather: More broken records possible

Temperatures in mid-60s Wednesday

DETROIT – Mother Nature is wielding the weather hammer again, ready to break more records.

Clouds will exit briefly Tuesday, but fog and low clouds will return overnight. Temperatures will be warmer than they were Monday night. Expect lows in the mid-40s.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the workweek. After morning clouds and any fog takes off, sunshine will emerge and temperatures will hit the mid-60s for highs. The record high of 65 degrees was set in 1930.

Thursday will be slightly cooler, but still beautiful. Expect partly cloudy skies with highs near 60. Rain will move through late Thursday night, but it should be gone before the morning commute.

We could break another record Friday. Highs should hit the mid-60s during a mainly dry day, but thunderstorms still look possible at night. Some of those storms could be strong. We’ll keep an eye on the situation.

The last weekend of February will actually feel like it. Temperatures will be close to average with some snowflakes. Check out the 10-day forecast for more.
