ANN ARBOR. Mich. – Controlled burns will take place on Tuesday in Ann Arbor.

Burns will happen at the rain garden at Arbor Oaks Park, Briarcliff, Garden Homes Park, Miller Avenue, Miller Park and Vet’s Park rain garden within the parking lot off Dexter Avenue.

The Washtenaw County Office of the Water Resources Commissioner has collaborated with the city of Ann Arbor’s Parks and Recreation and Public Services departments for the burns, and permits have been obtained from the fire department.

Controlled burns are used to reduce invasive species and encourage native plant growth.
