ANN ARBOR – Join staff from Matthaei Botanical Gardens for a free walkabout tour on Wednesday as they give you an up close and personal look at many of the property’s trees.

The “Meet the Trees” walk will take participants through the forest to explore a species whose leaves taste like Froot Loops and learn how to use a special key to identify the trees, among other activities.

Keys will be handed out for free to explore trees in your own neighborhood following the event.

This event is designed for participants ages 6-11.

The tour will meet near the main entrance to the gardens at the front stairs and will run from 5-6:30 p.m.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens is located at 1800 N. Dixboro Rd.
