Man, 68, hit by car while crossing Ann Arbor street, police say

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 68-year-old man was injured after he was hit by a car in Ann Arbor Wednesday morning.

At 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, officers responded to the intersection of E. Huron and N. Division streets after receiving a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The pedestrian, a 68-year-old Ann Arbor man, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening but serious injuries.

An investigation revealed that the driver, a 38-year-old Ann Arbor woman, was heading eastbound on Huron when she turned left onto N. Division and hit the 68-year-old while he was crossing the street.

He was in the crosswalk when he was hit, according to police.

The driver was issued a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian.

Police say the pedestrian is hospitalized with serious injuries, but he is stable.

The intersection was briefly closed for the investigation, but has since reopened.
