ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 22-year-old woman has turned herself in after a fatal hit-and-run in Ann Arbor near the University of Michigan campus.
It happened Monday, May 5, just before midnight and the intersection of Huron Street and Fourth Avenue. According to authorities, a 79-year-old man from Ann Arbor was hit by an eastbound SUV while he was crossing the street in a wheelchair. Police said he was still in the crosswalk when the traffic light changed.

First responders rendered aid and rushed him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the SUV drove off before officers arrived.
Police said a 22-year-old woman from Ann Arbor later turned herself in.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and the driver has been lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail.
