The Carrollton High School standout had offers from Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Georgia and Penn State before deciding to come to Ann Arbor.
Reports indicated that the 6′1″ 180-pound cornerback was committed to Alabama back in May before he took his official visit to Michigan on June 20 where head coach Sherrone Moore and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale showed Barney how the program was building something special in Ann Arbor.
