I-94 in Ann Arbor reopens after crash spills hundreds of bottles across freeway

Emergency crews work to clear the freeway

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A stretch of I-94 in Ann Arbor has reopened after a two-vehicle crash created a large mess and closed it down.

According to authorities, the crash involved a car and a semi truck near Jackson Avenue at about 3 p.m. The collision caused hundreds of glass bottles to scatter across both lanes and pushed the concrete median into the travel lanes. A vehicle pulling a boat on a trailer was also hit, causing the boat to come off the trailer and land on the freeway.

No serious injuries have been reported.

Initially, both east and west lanes were closed off before a westbound lane was reopened shortly after 5 p.m. Both sides were reopened at about 5:45 p.m., but crews were still cleaning up the broken glass.
