ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Michigan Wolverines wrap up their non-conference slate with the Central Michigan Chippewas matchup on Sept. 13 inside The Big House at noon on the Big Ten Network.
The Wolverines hold a 7-2 home record and have gone 3-2 against non-conference opponents over the last two years under coach Sherrone Moore.

First-time starters at Oklahoma included linebacker Jimmy Rolder and offensive linemen Blake Frazier and Nathan Efobi.
Jaden Mangham earned his first start for the University of Michigan after previously starting at Michigan State University.
So far this year, nine Wolverines have made their first career start or first start at Michigan.
Explosive plays were limited for the Wolverines in 2024, but through two weeks of the 2025 season, Michigan has recorded 10 plays of 20 or more yards—six in week one and four in week two.
Running back Justice Haynes leads with three such plays, followed by wide receiver Donaven McCulley and Channing Goodwin with two each.
Michigan is winning the turnover battle this season, forcing four interceptions and recovering one fumble. The only turnover lost was a fumbled kickoff return.
Haynes has made a mark with runs of 56, 59, and 75 yards in his Michigan career. His 75-yard touchdown in Norman was the longest play for Michigan since Donovan Edwards’ 85-yard run against Ohio State in 2022.
Haynes has rushed for 284 yards through his first two starts, the most by a Michigan back since at least 2000.
Carlos Brown previously held the mark with 245 yards over two games in 2007.
Haynes also has four touchdowns through two games.
Defense
Defensively, Michigan is limiting opponents to 2.8 yards per rush on 68 attempts.
Linebacker Ernest Hausmann leads the defense with 19 tackles through two games, seven more than the next closest defender, Brandyn Hillman.
Hausmann led Michigan with 89 tackles last season.
Linebacker Cole Sullivan has been a playmaker on defense and special teams.
With only one game of linebacker experience before this season, Sullivan has eight tackles, two sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery through two games.
Michigan’s linebacker group has been deep and productive early in the season.
The top four linebackers rank among the top nine in tackles: Hausmann leads, Rolder fourth, Sullivan fifth, and Jaishawn Barham ninth.
Ten different players have recorded an interception or pass breakup through two games, including two linebackers, two defensive linemen, and six defensive backs.
Jyaire Hill and Zeke Berry lead with two each.
Special teams
Punter Hudson Hollenbeck has effectively limited opponent return yards.
Five of his 10 punts have been fair caught or gone out of bounds, resulting in no return yards allowed.
Three punts were returned for a total of two yards, averaging 0.7 yards per return.
Special teams standout Joe Taylor has made key plays early in the season.
Taylor helped force a muffed punt at Oklahoma, fielded a punt on the return unit, and made a tackle on kickoff coverage against New Mexico.
