“They truly embody what it is to be a Michigan man,” said Marshall, crediting coach (Steve) Casula and tight end Max Bredeson for leadership.

When asked about his running style, Marshall said coach Tony Alford encourages him to “be you” and play hard.

“Whether that’s running through someone or juking, I just have to play my best and help the team win,” Marshall said.

Marshall reflected on his evolving role this season.

“Whatever this team needs me to be, I’m going to do it. Whether that’s getting five touches or blocking the whole game, I’m ready,” Marshall said.

Marshall shared emotions from a key run against Michigan State, joking about his speed but emphasizing the importance of scoring to secure the win.

“I was playing for my teammates, especially those for whom it might be their last rivalry game,” Marshall said.

Marshall sealed the 31-20 victory with a massive 56-yard touchdown run to blow the game open late in the fourth quarter.

He spoke warmly about the bond with his offensive line teammates, calling them some of his best friends.

“We call ourselves the 2400 block. We’ve built trust since high school, and that connection helps us play as a unit,” Marshall said.

Justice Haynes

On the impact of transfer Justice Haynes, Marshall said he’s learned a lot from his explosiveness and work ethic.

“Justice has a high football IQ, and I learn from him every day,” Marshall said.

Offensive linemen

Marshall described the personalities of his offensive linemen teammates: Andrew Sprague is laid-back, Blake Frazier is energetic and passionate, and Jake is a mix of both.

Marshall emphasized the importance of resilience and not getting distracted by criticism.

“You have to be yourself, rely on your training, and keep making plays,” Marshall said.
