No. 2-ranked Michigan basketball hosts Wisconsin in Big Ten ‘Blue Out’ at Crisler Center

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 2-ranked Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team (14-0, 4-0 Big Ten), led by head coach Dusty May, returns to Crisler Center on Saturday, Jan. 10, to host Wisconsin (10-5, 2-2 Big Ten).

The game will be a Blue Out, encouraging Wolverine fans to wear blue attire.

Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.

Promotions for the game include a student giveaway of Maize Rage Blue Out jerseys, courtesy of University Trails, for the first 1,250 students attending.

Halftime entertainment will feature Rolla Bolla.

Michigan holds a 98-78 all-time series advantage over Wisconsin, including a 60-24 home record in Ann Arbor.

After struggling against Wisconsin from 2007 to 2017, the Wolverines have reversed the trend, winning 10 of the last 14 meetings and currently holding a four-game winning streak.

In their most recent matchup, Michigan overcame an 11-point second-half deficit to win 59-53 and claim the 2025 Big Ten Tournament championship at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Michigan remains one of six undefeated teams nationally, joining No. 1 Arizona, No. 3 Iowa State, No. 10 Nebraska, No. 11 Vanderbilt, and Miami (Ohio).

The Wolverines have won 14 straight games decided by four points or fewer.

Their recent 74-72 win at Penn State ended a streak of 10 consecutive victories by 18 or more points, the longest such run since Duke’s 2003-04 season.

Michigan is having a dominant season, with 10 wins by 20+ points, including 8 by 30+, 6 by 40+, and 1 by 50+, along with 3 wins over nationally ranked opponents.

The team is the only Big Ten team with five players averaging double-digit points.

The “Big Three” — Yaxel Lendeborg (14.7 points), Morez Johnson Jr. (13.9), and Aday Mara (10.2) — combine for 40 percent of Michigan’s offense.

Lendeborg has scored in double figures 10 times, grabbed at least five rebounds in 12 games, and recorded 10 games with three or more assists.

Johnson Jr. posted back-to-back 20-plus-point games last week, scoring 24 against McNeese and a career-best 29 points on 10-for-12 shooting against No. 24 USC.

He was named Big Ten Player of the Week and leads Michigan with four 20-plus-point games.

Mara averages 2.57 blocks per game, has blocked shots in every game, and has recorded 11 multi-block performances.

His four blocks at Penn State marked his fifth game with three or more blocks.

Trey McKenney, averaging 10.9 points, has scored in double figures eight times in his last nine games.

McKenney is tied for the team lead with 10 total double-figure games, including a career-best 21 points in his collegiate debut against Oakland.

L.J. Cason has posted four double-figure scoring efforts in his last five games, including tying his career high with 14 points at Penn State.

During this stretch, he is shooting 61.3% from the field and 55.6% from three-point range.
