DETROITNBC News reports that several General Motors owners claim their vehicles stalled while driving after the vehicles were repaired because of ignition problems.

The story included an interview with Sandra Lorde from upstate New York. She used to own a Chevy Cobalt, but got rid of the car after it locked up at an intersection while traveling with her grandchildren.

"At at three-way stop, my car just stopped in the center of a three-way intersection," Lorde told NBC News. "It was terrifying to think that I could have injured my grandchildren."

Lorde said prior to stalling out, they had the ignition switch on their 2006 Cobalt replaced as part of a recall.

Other drivers have reported similar stalling problems with vehicles that received ignition switch repairs.

GM acknowledges some customers have reported stalling problems in their recalled cars, but the automaker said it's unclear if the problem is linked to the ignition.

In a statement, GM stated, "We inspected 50 customer cars, we conducted a warranty study, we reviewed about 30 claims submitted by NBC. We have not been able to identify a problem related to the ignition switch repair."
