President Donald Trump met with the heads of Detroit's Big Three automakers on Tuesday.

The President tweeted Tuesday morning ahead of the meeting:
Will be meeting at 9:00 with top automobile executives concerning jobs in America. I want new plants to be built here for cars sold here!

Media members were escorted out of the room once everyone was seated and introduced.
NBC reports executives from Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Hyundai were not invited, according to company spokesmen. German automakers BMW and Volkswagen were not available for comment.
Trump met with the heads of other big corporations on Monday. Ford CEO Mark Fields was at that meeting, too. According to Bloomberg, Fields said he was confident Trump was "very serious on making sure the United States economy is going to be strong."
Fields also said Trump plans to have policies on everything from taxes to regulations and trade to drive that strength.
Sergio Marchionne, of FCA, released the following statement:
“I appreciate the President's focus on making the U.S. a great place to do business. We look forward to working with President Trump and members of Congress to strengthen American manufacturing.”
