"Free golf for school supplies is a win-win trade off," said Paul Wegert, General Manager. "We have some really terrific folks among our golf clients and I know that they will step it up to help the kids in our area start school prepared to learn."

According to the United Way, local service agencies say the number of people seeking assistance is increasing each year. Many requests are from people who were previous donors and now find themselves in tough situations. Because of poverty and other family challenges, many children across our country go to school lacking basic supplies needed to perform well. By equipping children with essential supplies like, pencils, paper, calculators and binders, the community helps to ensure their success.

"This is a great partnership with St. John's Golf Course. There are over 1,600 students who could benefit from this program in the area.  It is a good way to help the youth and their families get a head start for school in September," said Marie Morrow, Plymouth United Way President.
